The Upstate Homeless Coalition of South Carolina (UHCSC) is a HUD certified Housing counseling agency. We provide the following:
- Mortgage Default counseling
- Reverse Equity Conversion Mortgage counseling. Read more about Reverse Mortgage Counseling.
- Home ownership counseling including advantages and disadvantages of refinancing, how to qualify for FHA (government insured) mortgages, energy efficiency information, information about grants and low cost government loans to help you improve your property, and any other homeowner concerns.
- Linkages and referrals to First Time Home buyer counseling and Down Payment Assistance programs in the Upstate.
- Financial Workshops on budgeting and money management and individual budget counseling is also offered for renters.
A Certified Housing Counselor, Toni King, is available to assist in-person at UHCSC offices in Greenville, Anderson, Seneca and Cherokee, or by phone. Services are free of charge.
