- Reduction in funding for mental health
- Lack of incentives for builders to build low cost housing
- Low wages/minimum wage
- Poor public transportation
All of the above contributes to homelessness. They are all issues that the government on
all levels can work towards improving.
The Upstate Homeless Coalition was instrumental in creating the South Carolina Homeless Coalition.
Advocacy is needed to help with issues relating to affordable housing for very low-income people
and other issues regarding poverty. If you would like to learn about the issues and are willing
