Upstate Homeless Coalition Establishes New Headquarters
Successful Efforts Spur Growth, Organization Holds Open House

GREENVILLE, SC - The Upstate Homeless Coalition of South Carolina announces its relocation to 150 Executive Center Drive, Suite 212, Greenville SC 29615. Phone and fax numbers will stay the same. This new location, off of I-385 at the Roper Mountain Road exit, is a result of the Upstate Homeless Coalition's successful efforts to provide programs, build affordable housing, and advocate on behalf of homeless and poverty issues in Upstate South Carolina.

The non-profit organization will celebrate their move with an open house on Tuesday, June 28th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at their new location. Refreshments, tours, and future goals of the Upstate Homeless Coalition will be discussed during the drop-in event.

Directions From Downtown Greenville: Take I-385 to Roper Mountain Road Exit, turn left off ramp, take a right onto Independence Blvd. Take a left onto Executive Drive, and take an immediate right at the Anderson Building. The Upstate Homeless Coalition is located in the Anderson building on the second floor.

"We're excited about our move," says Dr. Mike Chesser, Executive Director. "We were becoming pressed for space to house supplies and employees in our former building. The new space will enable us to help more families and individuals affected by homelessness."

About the Upstate Homeless Coalition: At any given time, there are approximately 3,500 people in the Upstate who are homeless. There are 1,579 shelter beds for them. The Upstate Homeless Coalition works in 13 Upstate counties to eliminate the problem of homelessness by providing low-cost housing and training programs to help these people become self-sufficient.
